How long will it take to get my wedding photos? It will take 4-6 weeks to receive your USB. Once you have selected the photos you would like in your photobook, it will take approx. 4-6 weeks for the photobook to be designed, published and shipped to your address
-
Do I own the rights to the photos? This is a very important question. Some companies will not allow client’s to print photos themselves and may only give digital copies in low resolution. With Lucas Kraus Photography, you own all rights to the photographs and allowed to print as many photos as you like from the digital copies. Digital photos will be given in both low resolution and high resolution and will not be watermarked.
-
Can you provide a second photographer? Yes. I have relationships with several other photographers that can be provided as a second photographer or backup photographer in case of an emergency
-
Will I have to pay a travel fee? If your wedding is within the Sydney, Gold Coast or Brisbane metropolitan areas then no. If your wedding is in the Hunter Valley or Byron Bay for example, expect to pay a $200-$300 travel fee.
-
Do you charge per location? Unlike some other companies, we do not charge for additional locations. If you book Lucas for 10 hours for example, you may choose as many locations as you like within that 10 hours.
-
Why are you much more affordable than other photographers? I get asked this a lot. I am more affordable because I work from home, do all my own marketing, all my own editing and do not use assistants or second shooters.
-
What if I want a videographer also? No problem. I can recommend a videographer that I have worked well with in the past, or you can choose your own.
-
What if we can’t organise to meet up before my wedding? That’s fine. Quite often I have taken bookings for couples who live outside Sydney, Brisbane or the Gold Coast but having their wedding in one of these cities. If that is the case, we can speak over the phone, email, skype etc.
-
How many weddings have you done? In 2015 alone, I photographed over 80 weddings. I average about 50-60 weddings a year and have been photographing weddings for approx. 5 years. So let’s say between 300-400.
-
How do you edit your photos? One word. Natural. No crazy pre-sets, no out-dated sepia tones, no titled horizons, no selective colouring (my pet hate). I may boost vibrancy, contrast, adjust white balance and exposure, subtle skin smoothing, I will clone out unwanted people or objects from background and will also add in around 50-80 black and white photos to your USB.
-
What is your main focus when photographing a wedding? My main focus when photographing a wedding is to capture your day in a subtle and unobtrusive way, but still make sure I get the shots I need. I organise subjects in a friendly and polite manner and usually by the end of the night I am apart of the family.
